Draw - This symbol means more than it seems. Sure you can draw with pencils, but you can also trace or use a computer. And no one said you had to use yours hands or stick with black & white!
Paint - Sorry neat-niks, but sometimes creativity gets messy. Use a brush if you must, but think outside the box, too. Dribble paint, splatter it, blow on it with straws. You get the idea.
Sculpt - Put some form to your ideas. Sculpting doesn’t have to be clay or rock. It’s anything three-dimensional. It’s folded paper, popsicle sticks, bottle caps, recycled cardboard tubes. You name it.
Compose - Let your voice or your instrument be heard. Write a song with funny lyrics or just bang out a ditty that sounds right to you. Make your own instruments. March to your own tune!
Write - You’re not writing a research paper here, so be creative. Short stories, advertisements, movie trailers, poems, songs, plays and comic strips are all letter perfect.
Build - Turn your crazy inventions and ideas into actual prototypes. If they work, great. If not, you’ll have a blast trying. Use whatever materials are handy (pasta, popsicle sticks, toothpicks, rubber bands, marshmallows, gum) – that should get you cranking!
Snap - These can be photos you take yourself or ones you clip from magazines or the internet. Use close-ups, far-away shots, or pieces you cobble together. How about a slide show? Whatever clicks.
Perform - Now’s your chance to act out. Create a play, a puppet show, or whatever. Use words, songs or just mime it out. Record it or make it a one-time only engagement. You’re the director!
